2025 Titanium Pricing Update

SaTir History

When we debuted our Satyr Ti, now known as SaTir, in June of 2021 at the Enve Grodeo we never could have anticipated that Titanium bikes would become such an integral part of our lineup. We originally planned to produce just 20 stock geometry models of that bike using the same Tom Kellogg geometry that would later be introduced on the 2nd generation Satyr.

Side note - we actually designed and developed the 2nd generation Satyr first and manufacturing delays in Taiwan during Covid left us without bikes in stock. We decided to do something different by making bikes in the US and the Satyr Ti came to be before our steel bikes finished up.

Those original 20 SaTir frames sold quickly and we kept making more. The SaTir gave way to the Phantom Ti, which we later revived the Snob moniker for. And then in 2022 we built a Ti mountain bike, The Wolf, for the Enve Builder Show that we’d originally shown our SaTir at the year prior. We still offer those, a bit of a secret menu item. Our line had expanded to 3 titanium models.

In 2022 we also started offering custom geometry on all 3 models. In most cases, with no up charge. We’ve always offered most “options” with no up charge - from internal cable routing to extra bottle bosses. We’ve only ever charged the materials cost difference.

In late 2022, with the popularization of fully hidden cabling, we aimed to build a Ti bike that blurred the lines between the traditional and modern. That bike, released in 2023, is the Occulto. The Occulto is a fully custom frameset leveraging 3d printing to conceal the cables in a sleek package.

For 2024 we released the Occulto AR, an all-road variant of the 3d printed Occulto. This bike is our most advanced metal bike yet - from a super light printed headtube, to newly designed UDH dropouts, to bespoke tubing. The Occulto family of bikes are fully tailored to each rider, as all of our Ti bikes have become, and they’re still made to order in the USA. We’re trickling down many of the updates from these bikes to the rest of our line - the dropouts, tubing options, and some updated fabrication styles will serve to improve our SaTir, Snob, and Wolf models.

SaTir History

Since introducing Made in USA Titanium bikes to our lineup, we’ve kept the pricing the same. The bikes have gone from production bikes with stock geometries to fully custom, we’ve constantly worked to improve and refine the tubing we use, we’ve added finishing options, and we’ve brought a number of innovations to this lineup. And for anyone who has worked with us, you know our goal is to spend as much time as it takes to understand you as a rider and build the bike that is just right for you. As a friend of the brand, Alpha Bicycle Studio, says - custom is standard.

Since 2021, the cost of materials, labor, and transport has risen steadily but we’ve stuck things out pricing wise. We’re at a point with these bikes where the materials cost increases alone add about $450 to each frame over where we were in 2021. Labor, finishing, and transport (we’re committed to making things easy, and have always covered shipping costs in our pricing) add even more.

Because our desire is to continue making the best bikes we can without up charging for things we believe should be standard (like custom geo, complimentary bike fit, UDH as standard, additional mounts, internal cable routing, or the small touches that really make the bike yours) we need to increase our pricing to match the market. We wanted to give as much advanced notice as we could here as we know that a bike like this is often something people consider for months before pulling the trigger.

Beginning January 1, 2025 the pricing on all of our Made in USA Titanium framesets will increase between 12% and 17%. We’ll honor our current pricing for all orders and deposits before the new year - and as always, we remain committed to providing the same level of service and support as we’ve always strived to.
